New to the team – Sheila Madden

Meet Sheila Madden: our Life & Pensions Administrator.

Sheila, BComm(Hons), MBS received both her undergraduate and master’s degree at University College Cork.

Sheila has a very varied working career, her first job was in Roches Stores and this is where her love of working with the public first came about. Since then she has worked in the health food sector both in Ireland and the US, she has worked in pubs and jewellers. This varied experience from a young age has made her adaptable and empowered her to think quickly on her feet.

She began her financial career in 2011 working in Investor Relations, liaising with fund managers and the investors. Sheila then changed direction and moved into the commercial property market where she worked as a research analyst for almost 8 years. During this time, she created a database and provided analytics on the Cork commercial market. She also had research reports published on both the Cork Office and Industrial markets and had an opinion piece featured in Sunday Business Post.

Outside of work, Sheila also has two small boys who are full of fun. She loves strength training, adventure races and trail running and last year she completed two half marathons and her first marathon in Amsterdam. She loves the outdoors and has played both tag rugby and G4MO.

She alternates her weekends between Cork and her home county of Kerry where she can be found on the family farm helping to milk cows and feed baby calves. Her weekends in Cork are spent on the side line of a pitch supporting her husband and boys. She also has a soft spot for a bottomless brunch or a more civilised coffee while catching up with friends.

During her maternity leave (and covid) in 2020, Sheila didn’t waste any time and used this period to upskill by studying and qualifying as a Personal Trainer. Having consistently trained since 2014 this felt like a natural progression for her as she had gained so much knowledge and experience during her years of traning. She also honed these studies in on post and pre-natal training, a gap she herself had noticed in the market when she was pregnant. She now has her own side business The PeTite PT where she coaches both groups and individuals.

Sheila is delighted to join the team at Halpin Wealth Management. She is working on her QFA exams and plans to become an Advisor by completing these along with the mentorship of the team at HWM.

Sheila’s ethos as personal trainer is similar and aligned with that of Halpin Wealth Management- to educate and empower. Her worst trait is leaving voice notes the length of podcasts for her long suffering friends to endure
