It is about more than accumulating a pot of money

Retirement planning is about knowing how much you will need, when you will need it, and how to make it last. Whether you are starting your first pension, consolidating old employer schemes, or planning your transition out of work, we help you at every stage.

Do you have old pension pots you have lost track of?

Most people who have had more than one job have more than one pension. We specialise in reviewing old pension pots and bringing forgotten schemes back into a single, managed plan. The money is still there and still legally yours. We help you find it and make the most of it.

What We Cover

Pension Types We Advise On

Every client's pension situation is different. We advise on the full range of pension structures available in Ireland.

Whether you are self-employed, in employment, a company director, or approaching retirement, the right pension structure depends on your circumstances. We assess your full situation and recommend the most appropriate plan for where you are now and where you want to get to.

Personal Pension

  • Suitable for the self-employed and those without employer schemes
  • Contributions attract tax relief at your marginal rate
  • Flexible investment options to suit your risk profile
  • Tax-free lump sum available at retirement

PRSA

  • Personal Retirement Savings Account
  • Flexible contributions, pause or change at any time
  • Portable, stays with you when you change employer
  • Suitable for employees and the self-employed

Company Pension Scheme

  • Employer contributions on top of your own
  • Higher contribution limits for company owners
  • Significant tax efficiency for business owners
  • We advise both individuals and companies

PRB (Personal Retirement Bond)

  • Used to transfer benefits from a previous employer scheme
  • Keeps your pension in your own name and under your control
  • Better investment choice than leaving in a deferred scheme
  • We review the transfer value before recommending

After Retirement — ARFs and Annuities

  • ARF — keep your fund invested and draw a flexible income in retirement
  • ARF fund passes to your estate on death, unlike an annuity
  • Annuity — exchange your fund for a guaranteed income for life
  • Right choice depends on your health, income needs, and attitude to risk
  • We advise on both and help you make the right decision at retirement

Old and Forgotten Pensions

  • We trace pensions from previous employers
  • We review transfer values and current investment performance
  • We assess whether to consolidate or leave in place
  • Older schemes often carry poor default funds and high charges

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

The honest answer is as early as possible. The earlier you start, the longer your fund has to grow and the less you need to contribute each month to reach your retirement goal. That said, it is never too late to start. Whether you are in your 30s, 40s, or 50s, a well-structured pension plan can still make a significant difference to your retirement income.
You receive tax relief on pension contributions at your marginal rate of income tax. If you pay tax at 40%, a 100 euro contribution effectively costs you 60 euro. The maximum contribution limits vary by age, from 15% of earnings under 30 up to 40% for those aged 60 and over. This makes pensions one of the most tax-efficient ways to save for retirement in Ireland.
Your pension benefits stay in the employer scheme as a deferred benefit, or you may be able to transfer them to a Personal Retirement Bond (PRB) in your own name. We strongly recommend reviewing deferred pensions as they are often invested in poor default funds with charges that erode your savings over time. We can assess your transfer value and advise on the best course of action.
An Approved Retirement Fund (ARF) is a post-retirement investment vehicle that allows you to keep your pension fund invested after you retire and draw an income from it flexibly. It is an alternative to an annuity, which provides a fixed income for life. Which is right for you depends on your circumstances, health, and income needs. We advise on both and help you make the right choice at retirement.
Yes. It is very common for people to have multiple pensions from different employers, alongside a personal pension or PRSA. Having multiple pensions is not necessarily a problem, but they need to be reviewed together as a whole to ensure you are on track and not paying unnecessary charges across multiple policies.
This is one of the most common conversations we have. We help trace old pensions from previous employers, contact scheme administrators, obtain transfer values, and assess whether consolidating makes financial sense. The money is still there and still legally yours. A pension audit takes one meeting and could uncover significant savings you had forgotten about.
Yes, completely. We review your current pension position, project your likely retirement income, and identify any gaps or improvements. There is no obligation to proceed with any recommendations. Most people come away with a much clearer picture of where they stand, which in itself is valuable.
